Unpublished and In Preparation (copies available for some)

"Using the Actor-Partner Interdependence Model to Study the Effects of Group Composition" with Randi Garcia. We extend the Actor-Partner Interdependence Model to the study of groups. For individual outcomes (e.g., satisfaction with the group), we propose a group composition model with four effects; for group-level outcomes (e.g., group productivity), we propose a model with two effects; and for dyad-level outcomes (e.g., liking of each of the other members of the group), a model with seven effects. The model can be used to study diversity, solo effects, person fit model, as well as others.

"Interpersonal Perception in Sports Rivalries" written with Samantha B. Gomes.  This paper examines intergroup perceptions of Red Sox and Yankee fans.

"Issues in the Measurement of Judgmental Accuracy" invited for Baron-Cohen, Tager-Flusberg, and Lombardo Understanding Other Minds (3rd ed.).

"The Performance of RMSEA in Models with Small Degrees of Freedom" with Burcu Kaniskan and D. Betsy McCoach.  This paper shows that RMSEA can be a very misleading measure of fit for small df structural equation models.

"'Judge, That Ye Shall Be Judged': Interpersonal Judgments of Religious Characteristics within Faith Communities" with Benjamin R. Meagher.  This paper examines perceptions of members of religious communinites and shows that they are more relational than might be thought.

"Treating Stimuli as a Random Factor in Social Psychology: A New and Comprehensive Solution to an Old but Largely-Ignored Problem" with Charles M. Judd and Jacob Westfall.

"Using Trait-State Models to Examine the Longitudinal Consistency of Global Self-Esteem from Adolescence to Adulthood" with M. Brent Donnellan, Kali H. Trzesniewski, Richard E. Lucas, & Rand D. Conger.

"A General and Flexible Approach to Estimating the Social Relations Model Using Bayesian Methods" with Oliver Lüdtke, Alexander Robitzsch, and Ulrich Trautwein.

"Moderation in the Actor-Partner Interdependence Model" with Randi L. Garcia and Thomas Ledermann. A draft of this paper should be available in December 2011.

UConn Articles about Yours Truly

My election to AAAS (see the article to see what it stands for) described in the UConn advance. See also the AAAS website.

An article in the UConn advance (a picture with me smiling).

A not so recent article in the UConn advance (the person I am talking to is not even my student!).

Two very dated articles in the UConn Advance: an honor that I received and a television show I was on (sorry no picture!).
